for the first time, i forgot to comb my hair after i bathed yesterday
guess i was so caught up reading the tenth circle by jodi picoult i wasn`t thinking right
but anyway, my siblings said it didn`t make any difference
when the hair is permed, not combing does not equate to messy because it`s just that way all the time
and i just went out of the house like that
but it feels weird cos i have never not combed my hair after i bathed before
lol


a hot pao scalded my tongue last friday and now the taste buds are still popping out of my tongue
my tongue was stinging throughout the entire weekend
how great is that?!


while i was reading the tenth circle, a line caught my attention
the best decisions in a marriage were based not on honesty but on the number of casualties that the truth might cause, versus the number saved by ignorance
REALLY?
i guess there might be some truth in it but i have to disagree
on the other hand, not being truthful is not the same as telling big fat lies
and the excuse being: the other party just didn`t ask
this is just absolutely being in a state of self-denial

i have often wondered why people got married
i mean, a lot of time, effort and money is spent on a wedding
but eventually, marriage is still a gamble
sometimes, splitting is inevitable
why not just settle for co-habitation?
if things don`t work out, yeah, go separate ways. no strings attached
but i guess there`s something mystical and romantic that drives people to desire marriage
i like attending weddings
because at that moment, everything is perfect
even if it isn`t, it seems perfect
after all, the disagreements and squabbles during preparations for a wedding are just the appetizers
more of these will come after the wedding
the thing is, people do break off their engagements
so maybe, in the first place, preparations for a wedding play a part in a couple divorcing
how ironic is that?

maybe i`m just a tad too cynical and callous to sneer at something as holy and important as a marriage
but reality sucks
and when it is thrown into your face suddenly, you need to accept that
in your mind, maybe you often daydream of a perfect wedding and marriage
but that`s all imaginary
the reality presents it in a different light

i thought of blogging about this because at around 4am this morning, i woke up wide awake, needing to pee
then i couldn`t get back to sleep and some of things i typed out here just appeared in my head
and in the midst of it, i went back to sleep
so i decided to blog about what was keeping me awake at 4am


chinese new year is coming
i`m looking forward to it although i don`t know why
i mean, it`s the same every year
go visiting.
get red packets.
parents give red packets.
ultimately, we kids get back everything
so why don`t the parents just give the money to their children directly?
it`s funny how traditions work sometimes



screwed up driving lesson on tuesday
maybe cos it was the first session of the day (at 8am gah!) and i haven`t got my faculties right
felt upset for the entire lesson/day and the following day
had driving again yesterday and i made a huge conscious effort to drive properly
i felt like i was over-cautious or something but i was immensely satisfied with how i drove yesterday
i`m at stage 2 already!
hopefully i can finish stage 2 next week or right after chinese new year
then after i pass my final theory test, i can book the driving test date which i have to wait for 2 months
anyway, the remaining 3 stages take approximately that amount of time to complete as well
if all goes well, i should get a licence at the end of april
that leaves me with 3 months to find a regular job


watched law-abiding citizen on tuesday
it was violent and all
i seem to be watching gory shows lately
the law-abiding citizen is actually not law-abiding at all; he`s a freaking psychopath
yeah
but there were funny bits here and there


sis and me thought of a way to speed up our reading in korean
so we printed out the korean lyrics of the songs we had in our phone and tried reading them
then we sang along with the music from the phone
ha!
the first song took us ages to read
but we could read faster for the second song
=)


oh
and it`s great being a hamster
all it has to do is eat, sleep, look cute and grow fat
how simpler can life get?!
really, but the catch is - it has to endure some mean acts from me
like spraying water at it, or tugging its legs to wake it up
it`s hilarious watching its reaction

attended the limelight concert by css band on monday night
i thought it was a flop
i think it`s because the wrong pieces were chosen, making the weaknesses of the band so exposed
the really cool part was sis and me got front-row seats!!
i mean, come on!
front-row seats at the esplanade ($16 for me and $8 for sis)!
it can only happen for school performances

relief teaching yesterday was WOW!
as in the shocking WOW!
i had to relief a primary 1 and a primary 2 class
they were absolutely adorable and noisy
there cannot be no teacher in class
when i went to the P1 class a bit late, half the class was clamouring at the front door
oh, let`s start from the beginning
after the paper work in the office, i went up to the hall where assembly was
a short while later, a P1 girl came up to me holding her tooth on a tissue paper and told me she had dropped her tooth
i was like, oh! so... you want to go to the toilet?
then i accompanied her to the toilet
i thought it was really funny cos she seemed a bit nervous

the P1 class i took was hyper-active
i was doing relief for chinese lesson and gave them a worksheet to do
there was an american girl so i had to coach her specially
she was really cute
at the start of the lesson, she came up to me and told me the original teacher said if she needed help, she could ask for help cos she`s american
so i sat across her table to help her
i got lots of pats on my arm cos all the girls came to ask me when they didn`t know how to do
some of the other girls played catching in class and were screaming at the top of their voices when they were done with their worksheets
i was like, wow. so this is how a P1 class is like
one indian girl came up to me and said she didn`t want to go for her hindi lesson cos she missed her mother
i had absolutely no idea how to react to that!
at the end of the day, they had to queue up so i could bring them to the school buses and to their parents who were waiting
i was walking at the front when the first girl just slipped her small hand into mine
i was amused
oh. and also, when they queueing up outside and i was still in class finding the switches for the lights and fans, a girl came running to me, frantically telling me she had no partner
fancy that!

let me talk about the P2 class now
they could tell instantly i was someone noob who could be bullied
they asked my age and if i was still studying
they thought i couldn`t speak english!
OMFG!
i wished i could speak to them in english! but it was chinese lesson -.-
they were equally noisy and screamed when they laughed
i don`t know how
it`s just that kind of screeching laughter
oh well, i guess the P1 girls were more adorable but i was more able to interact with the P2 girls
at least they can hold a conversation with me and i liked talking to them
then a girl told me she liked my shoes and laughed to herself
after that, she said she liked everybody`s shoes and continued laughing -.-

well, it`s been a long time since i was in a primary school and i was struck by their innocence,
in the way they call everyone their friend and their cheerful laughter and voices so carefree
no worries, no problems, no unhappiness
it`s great to be a child



driving lesson on monday was a bit unnerving
cos i had to speed up to 70km/h
it felt really fast but there`s a thrill to it
no wonder people like to speed
today i had to drive fast too but exceeded the road limit at times
lol

met up with sara yesterday
to hang, that`s what she calls it
watched a movie - daybreakers
it was really gory, gruesome and shocking at times due to the excessive play of blood and sudden deafening sounds american movies are so fond of
but it was a good show
t`was about vampires but the thing different about this movie was that vampires can turn back into humans, which was unlike many vampire shows which only show humans becoming vampires
then we went to gelare`s which sells the most expensive waffle ice-cream i have ever eaten
but it was delicious
sara had a streak of brilliance which was for me to teach her chinese
O.o
i could only stare at her for i don`t know where and how to start
but somehow if she wants, i guess we`ll manage
haha

going to RGPS for relief-teaching tomorrow
i really can`t imagine dealing with a class of 7- and 8-year olds

i`m uber happy today
because.
i bought many things =DD
but burnt a big hole in mum`s pocket =(
i bought a pair of flats, a pair of slippers, 3 shorts and 3 shirts
haha
so gleeful
haven`t splurged for a long time
xp

my driving is improving =)
i can drive straight and turn at bends properly now
the instructor promised to let me drive on the main road the next lesson
*excited!!*



had my first driving lesson today !!!
i was grinning throughout the entire lesson
i tried to stop grinning though
i wonder if the instructor noticed because he seems quite amused or maybe that`s how he is
the instructor was friendly and smiley
i`m glad
and i had to practise turning right and left on a dummy steering wheel in the middle of the circuit
i was controlling myself but eventually it got too weird and funny i couldn`t stop laughing
so the instructor laughed too and he finally was satisfied with making a fool out of me and we got back into the car
tried driving already
went round the circuit many times
it is uber cool !!
but i can`t manouvre bends properly and i can`t drive straight
lol
the instructor also went through the car parts and had me holding the umbrella as he explained the stuffs
haha
on the whole, the lesson was fun and i hope the other instructors of my group are as friendly as well
met chin hou, a lower sec classmate before the lesson
we chatted a bit
it was his first lesson too and he couldn`t wait to get to the car
haha
guess everyone`s excited on the first lesson
